Lloyds Banking Group recently brought together over 400 engineers to take part in Reboot North, a Hackathon event full of technological challenges to drive collaboration and idea generation.
Hosted across Manchester Centralโs modern and interconnected Charter and Exchange Rooms, attendees spent the day taking part in Hackathon activities as well as building, creating and delivering projects in front of a panel of judges who selected a winning team at the end of the day.
As well as a Hackathon, the Reboot event was about capability building; ensuring Lloyds remain at the forefront of technological advancements in their industry. It featured a packed agenda of developer workshops, lightening talks and partner stalls for attendees to enjoy.
Sue Hatfield, Corporate Event Planner explained why Lloyds chose Manchester Central:
โWe focused our requirements on space, facilities and vibe โ and Manchester Central had it all!
โThe premium wi-fi package ensured that all of our hackers could focus on the tasks in hand rather than having to give any consideration to connectivity. This was a refreshing change from previous venues in which we have held events.
Sue went on to describe her experience in dealing with the venue team and said:
โManchester Central compiled an excellent team of professionals who collectively know how to seamlessly deliver a successful event. Every aspect of our requirements was fulfilled, with experts on hand to answer all queries and to satisfy every demand. No request was too challenging, and everyone was greeted with a smile!
โThe team took a lot of the worry out of putting on such a large and technical event for which the space and layout worked excellently.โ
