One Day at Christmas is a charity event organised by the UK events industry creating a wonderful festive experience for people who may be alone or isolated.
2024 marked Manchester Central’s first ever One Day at Christmas event, which was hosted simultaneously across 8 UK events venues on the 6th December, with the support of Mash Media.
We welcomed around 200 older and isolated individuals from the local area for a day of festivities, including performances from The Bridgewater Hall Singers, violinist Greg Scott, and the Wai Yin Society. The in-house Kitchen team cooked up a three-course feast for the attendees, served by our incredible volunteers.
The event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our clients, city, and event partners who offered their time, services, and goods for the day as well as prizes for the raffle. With over 40 volunteers from both Manchester Central and local events partners, it was a great opportunity to bring together representatives from across the events industry to deliver a fun filled festive day.
Our Charter rooms were combined to create a large and welcoming space, with round tables, a stage, and a dancefloor, which created the perfect party atmosphere.
Manchester Central were proud to work in collaboration with Manchester City Council and Age Friendly Manchester to reach local residents and performers. The event is centred around giving back to the local community and building lasting connections.
